A new ID. I thought it was time to show myself. :) Not that you haven't seen enough of me already but the last ID was a little vague and perfect for the period it was created in. That was then and this is now. And me.

BTW, any hints on how to work with the hair in Photoshop?

straightforward? whatever in the great spaghetti monster's name are you talking about?

this comment should be deleted, actually, seeing as you've requested ADVANCED critique. however i must defend myself in saying the size of this does not warrant advanced critique, as we are unable to address the very fine details.

Check out *lucky13's tutorials. I think he had one there in which he was working with hair in restoring a photograph or maybe it was a portrait. There are a couple of gals on DevART that do portrait work. But, they work with graphics tablets while working in Photoshop which does make it easier. :D I'll have to check my watch list to find their websites. :D

Thank you so much for the hint! I am already checking out her site and am browsing her tutorials (a lot of them have caught my interest).

But, they work with graphics tablets while working in Photoshop which does make it easier.
So do I. It still works best for me. I do switch between mouse and pen for different areas but when it comes to retouching photos and digital manipulation nothing compares to the mighty pen! Mightier than the sword! In this case, more than true. :giggle:

The other two who do a great job at portraits are `bren and `jezebel :D `Jezebel had a tutorial on hair in her gallery at one time, I think. At least I think it was her.. It think that it had to do with the hair on either a cat or a wolf portrait. But, both of them use graphics tablets for their works. :D Bren has done some nice animal and people pix, too. :D
